I honestly believe that being an online teacher is one of the coolest things in the world. That’s why I want to brainstorm 4 of the best ways that I know of to promote your online courses!
I also know that, one of the saddest things in the world, is when you create awesome courses but then nobody ends up enrolling!
That’s truly a sad thing, so I want to share with you the 4 coolest ways that I know of to help promote an online course.
Course Advertising Method # 1 – Email Marketing
I honestly think, that email marketing is arguably the single best way to promote anything.
I’ve also mentioned before on this blog that your students can often times make the very best email subscribers, because if your students think that your courses are cool, then there’s probably a good chance that they’d like to know about your future courses.
If you have an email list, then consider letting your subscribers know about your course content. And, if you don’t have an email list yet, then it might be a very worthy endeavor to start an email newsletter, so you can let your subscribers know whenever you publish new content.
It might seem like email newsletter publishing is a lot of work, however, I honestly think that it’s one of the easiest and cheapest ways to get web traffic, and it’s also a ton of fun if you enjoy writing content for your niche.
The fascinating thing, is that if you’re an online teacher, then you already have one of the most powerful lead magnets available, which could be, one of your online courses.
Course Advertising Method # 2 – Blogging
Blogging is another super powerful way to promote your online courses. The cool part is that, if you have your own blog, then your promotional strategies are really only limited by your own creativity.
So, you could have an entire section on your blog that promotes your different courses. Or, you could have sidebar widgets that promote your new courses. You could also have a “welcome bar” widget or an ‘exit intent’ popup that promotes your online courses.
Blogging gives you a ton of possibilities, so heck yes, I love blogs and they’re a cool way to promote your course content.
Course Advertising Method # 3 – Submit To Course Marketplaces
These days there are so many powerful online course marketplaces where you can promote your online courses.
Udemy, SkillShare, and SkillSuccess are three of the biggest, and three of my favorite online course marketplaces.
My advice, is to consider publishing on these platforms, because it’s very easy to upload your course content here, and if your courses are accepted, then either of these marketplaces can help you to promote your courses.
I love these course marketplaces, and think that they’re tremendously beneficial to online instructors everywhere, regardless of which niche you operate within.
I also believe that these course marketplaces are helping to drastically reduce the cost of education worldwide, which is another reason why I’m a massive advocate.
Course Advertising Method # 4 – Create YouTube And Podcast Content
As an online teacher, you’re truly an innovator and inventor! My advice, is to share your teaching content as much as you can!
That’s why it might be a good idea to promote your course content via content marketing efforts, such as YouTube Content, Podcast Content, and of course even Social Media Content.
If you love to teach, and if you love to help others, then try your best to share your content ideas with all who will listen.
Of course, at the end of your free content, you could always plug the URL of your blog, of your course launch, or of course, your email newsletter registration page.
The name of the game is to create awesome content so that hopefully your ideal prospects appreciate your efforts, and decide to learn more about you, your email newsletters, and eventually your online courses.
