To me, this has always been a pie in the sky theory.
That’s why this event is so fascinating to me, and I’m curious to see if the hosts are successful in their endeavors.
What The Heck Is Viral Marketing Anyway?
The term “Viral Marketing” is something that’s always being tossed around from left to right.
It’s a common buzzword in this crazy world of entrepreneurship.
To me, viral marketing is when readers are sharing your content on social media like crazy, commenting on your content, and your audience grows as a result.
It’s something that I’ve never had much luck with.
Sure, my blog posts get shared on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook a few times when I publish cool stuff.
That being said, and in my honest opinion, the term viral marketing only applies when there’s a ridiculous amount of commotion regarding your content.
Does Viral Marketing Actually Work?
In my experience, content in the “marketing”, “business”, or “entrepreneurship” niches almost NEVER goes viral.
Because I’ve personally never seen this done before.
For this event in particular, a very respected and renown team of marketing nerds literally hired some of the world innovators in “Viral Marketing” to see if they could make this event go viral.
Is it going to work?
Or, is the case study going to epically and totally flop?
That’s why I’m interested to see for myself personally, this will either be a groundbreaking success, or an embarrassing “egg in their face” failure (I’ve had plenty of those over the years, lol).
Either way, if you’re a marketer or entrepreneur, it will probably be filled with valuable, educational content, and maybe even a few laughs.
