After focusing so much of my own energy into the art and science of sales funnels, and after being a dedicated online teacher for a while, this is a topic that I’m super excited about.
I’m about to brainstorm 5 awesome sales funnel ideas that are a little out of the box, creative, and awesome.

Teacher Sales Funnel Idea # 1 – Membership Funnel
A Membership Funnel is arguably the single best and most powerful for online teachers!
The reason why a Membership Funnel is so powerful for teachers, is because a Membership Funnel can not only help to generate leads and to sell products, but a Membership Funnel can actually house your course content.
There are other benefits to having a Membership Funnel too you know. For example, a Membership Funnel is perfect for cross-promoting your other offers, your other courses, your books, your premium products, or even your affiliate offers.
Membership Funnels rock, and I think that they can be absolutely perfect for online teachers!
In fact, there are so many cool things that a teacher could do with a Membership Funnel, that it can be tough to figure out where to start lol. (Which, in my humble opinion, is a very high-quality problem to have).
Teacher Sales Funnel Idea # 2 – Lead Magnet Funnel
A Lead Magnet Funnel is one of my favorite sales funnel types, simply because I absolutely love email marketing.
Running and managing an email newsletter is one of my favorite hobbies in the world, and a Lead Magnet Funnel is arguably the best way to generate an email lead.
If you’re an online teacher, then having your own email list stuffed with subscribers who love your content can be one of the best ways to get the word out about your course.
Of course, building an email newsletter and keeping it over the long-haul requires a boatload of work, so never let anyone tell you that email marketing is simple (lol), but I’m still a huge fan nevertheless.
As a teacher, maybe you could even give away some of your course content as a lead magnet? Or, you could even setup a cool 7-day free email course if you wanted to.
The truth is that online teachers have so much potential when referencing a lead magnet because online teachers are infamous for creating awesome content; a little brainstorming is all that’s required to come up with an awesome lead magnet.
For example, maybe you could offer the first few lectures of your course for free! Or, maybe you have some of your older courses that are still valuable and could serve as an awesome free gift.
Use your imagination, because it’s more important than just about anything. 🙂
Teacher Sales Funnel Idea # 3 – Automated Webinar Funnel
An Automated Webinar Funnel is easily one of the most powerful sales funnel ideas for online teachers.
First of all, an Automated Webinar Funnel can be one of the coolest ways that you can generate an email lead. So, once your attendee registers for your webinar, you can ethically and automatically send email followups to build rapport, and share your content without any extra work on your behalf.
Also, Automated Webinars can be one of the coolest ways that you can share your educational content with your prospects. As a teacher, you probably have some awesome presentations that you could share during your webinar, which will hopefully excite and entertain your audience.
Finally, and arguably most importantly, an Automated Webinar Funnel can be a really awesome way to actually promote and sell your premium courses.
So, after your webinar presentation, you could then introduce one of your favorite courses at a special deal for webinar attendees only.
Of course, any modern Automated Webinar Platform should make it simply for you to insert a call to action at a specific time during your webinar, so you can present your “Add To Cart” button when the time is right.
Before I forget, I wanted to mention that Automated Webinars rock simply because they allow you to record your presentation one time, and then you can promote that same event over and over again, automatically, which totally rocks in my opinion.
Teacher Sales Funnel Idea # 4 – A Tripwire Funnel, or a Book Funnel
Did you know that every single course I ever published, was originally one of my books?
In fact, one of the main reasons I started publishing online courses was because I was writing so many books and simply wanted to gain more leverage from the same ideas.
So, that’s why I’m passionate about Tripwire Funnels, and Book Funnels.
A Tripwire Funnel is a type of funnel where you offer a very low-priced front end offer, and then you also offer your customer an upsell immediately after they make their first purchase.
So maybe you could actually offer your customer a book version of your course for a huge discount. After your end user purchases the book, you could then offer them an immediate upsell “One Time Offer” for the full version of your course.
The benefit of having upsells in your sales funnels is that hopefully, this can increase your average value per purchase.
For example, let’s pretend in Situation A that you sell 100 books, and never offer an upsell.
Then, in Situation B let’s pretend you sell 100 more books, only this time, you offer an immediate upsell that promotes one of your courses.
Situation B is superior to Situation A, because Situation B has more potential to make more sales, right?
It’s true that in Situation B you might not make any sales of your course. That’s totally possible.
However, it’s also true that with Situation A, you are nearly-guaranteed to never make any sales of your course, because you’re not selling it as a One Time Offer Upsell.
Teacher Sales Funnel Idea # 5 – Product Launch Funnel
Product Launch Funnels are one of the coolest types of funnels for online teachers, simply because they allow you to generate leads, hype and pre-sell your course with valuable content, and you can also promote your courses during the same process.
Usually, a Product Launch Funnel starts out by offering some type of lead magnet. After the subscriber requests the lead magnet, then they are presented with some really awesome training content that’s also designed to pre-sell your main offer.
If you’ve seen many of the “huge” product launches in the marketing space over the years, many of them follow this model.
I think that the main benefit of a Product Launch Funnel is that it allows you, as a teacher, to generate an email lead, to share some of your best content, and to help your potential students before you even ask for the sale.
That way, even if none of your prospects end up buying, at the very least, they are now subscribed to your email list and hopefully will stay subscribed and perhaps they will be interested in some of your other offers later on.
