Let’s Brainstorm Some Awesome Email Marketing Monetization Strategies…
Are you an email marketer, a self-publisher or a small business who has an email newsletter, but you have no clue how to monetize it?

Email Monetization Strategy # 1 – Write An Awesome Affiliate Review
Writing an affiliate review is one of the coolest pieces of content that you can ever write, and in my humble opinion there are many benefits to writing affiliate reviews.
An affiliate review is simply a product review that you write, and then you also include your affiliate links within the review, the idea being that if your reader appreciates your efforts that they will then go on to click your affiliate link, and purchase the product if they decide that the product is right for them.
One of the most important things when writing any type of review, is to be 100% honest. The worst thing you can do is put your stamp of approval on a piece of junk product (lol), and if you say that a really lowly product is excellent, then there’s a great chance that your readers won’t take you seriously in the future.
So, if you’re totally honest in your product reviews, and if you provide valuable insights, then I think that review writing is one of the coolest activities that any blogger or email newsletter publisher can do.
There are a ton of other advantages to writing reviews.
First of all, there is a boundless number of products that you can review these days. Jus ask yourself, what products do you personally use that are related to your niche, or what products do you use that your end users might find valuable?
There are endless ecommerce products on retail marketplaces such as Amazon, Target, Walmart and Ebay, and the cool part is that all of these mentioned establishments have affiliate programs that you can join, allowing you to earn a commission when anyone buys via your unique affiliate links.
There are also countless affiliate programs with massive digital marketplaces such as Udemy, Amazon Kindle, SkillShare, ClickBank, SkillSuccess and others.
Email Monetization Strategy # 2 – Promote An Automated Affiliate Webinar
I think that webinar marketing can be a really awesome sales tool for just about any serious email newsletter writer or email marketer.
The good news is that these days there are a bunch of affiliate webinars that you can promote as an affiliate, so you don’t even need your own product if you love the idea of promoting a webinar.
So maybe you’re wondering why you would even want to promote an affiliate webinar? Why is this different from a traditional affiliate offer?
Well, the thing I personally love about webinars, is that you yourself don’t have to ask for the sale. When you’re promoting a webinar, your only goal is to get people to register for the event.
If you utterly loathe the world of “high pressure sales”, then pitching someone else’s webinar as an affiliate might be the coolest thing in the world, because you yourself don’t have to bend over backwards to make the sale.
Instead, you can just let your end users know that there’s an awesome online training event that they might like, and simply let your end users know what they’ll learn on the webinar event.
(Of course, if you intend on promoting an affiliate webinar, definitely be sure to attend the webinar yourself to make sure that it’s high quality, and also so you’ll know what type of content your end users might expect).
If you’re looking for affiliate webinars that you can promote, then check out the ClickBank marketplace. (There are at least a few automated webinars that I’m aware of that are performing very well and are tremendously popular on ClickBank at the moment).
Also, some of the “big” product launches include all different types of marketing creatives that you can use as an affiliate. (I’ll talk more about affiliate marketplaces later on in this document).
ClickFunnels also has a few simulated events that you can promote as an affiliate, and I personally think that the ClickFunnels affiliate program rocks.
Email Monetization Strategy # 3 – Launch A Webinar Campaign Of Your Own
There are a few reasons why I’m constantly harping on my readers, students, subscribers and colleagues about the power of webinar marketing.
First of all, a decent webinar marketing funnel can be one of the single best ways to generate an email marketing lead. So if you’re currently investigating different methods upon which to generate leads and to build your email list, then heck yes webinar marketing rocks in this regard.
Webinar marketing can also be a tremendously powerful way to advertise your own products, services, offers, courses, books, or absolutely anything that you want to sell, even affiliate offers.
That’s because webinars can be a powerful opportunity to introduce yourself, to share your very best content, and to also share solutions with your audience.
And, of course, at the end of the webinar you can simply pitch your offer to your audience. Maybe you could include some special (and time limited) bonuses that your end users get if they take action during your webinar. That way, you can try your best to evoke some scarcity into your promotion, which in my opinion is a very powerful tactic.
Another cool thing about webinar marketing, is that these days there are some super powerful webinar automation platforms that will enable you to record your perfect presentation one time, and then use that presentation in a fully automated webinar marketing funnel.
Email Monetization Strategy # 4 – Launch A Product Promotion Of Your Own
Do you have your own products that you are selling on digital marketplaces, or even in ecommerce marketplaces?
Do you sell any books, courses, digital products, physical products, or even any freelancing services?
If so, then it can be a really cool idea to use your email list to formally launch this product.
This might seem infinitely intimidating and daunting (I can relate lol), but the truth is that if your email newsletter is stuffed with subscribers who already know, like, and trust you, then the truth is that your subscribers might really appreciate and benefit from your products.
One clever way to make your product launch an exciting event, is to include some special bonuses that expire at the end of your launch.
So maybe you could include a bonus course, a bonus book, a bonus strategy session, a bonus social media group, or anything that you could offer as a special incentive that your end users ONLY get if they buy during your launch.
So maybe your launch could last 3 days, 5 days, or maybe an entire week or a month; you’re of course only limited by your own creativity, and imagination!
Email Monetization Strategy # 5 – Sell A Solo Ad
A Solo Ad is a very old school advertising method where email newsletter publishers sell an advertising slot to someone who wants to buy an ad.
Solo Ads are usually sold on a “per click” basis and in my experience clicks are sold for anywhere from fifty cents to a couple of dollars.
So, if you know for a fact that your email newsletter can generate anywhere from 50 to a couple of hundred clicks, then selling Solo Ads might be a quick way to monetize your email newsletter.
Email Monetization Strategy # 6 – Find A Hot Product Launch To Promote
If you don’t have a product of your own, or if you’re otherwise exhausted from launching your own products, then one easy way to monetize your email list is to simply find an awesome product launch that you can promote as an affiliate.
These days there are a few massive product launch marketplaces that you can check out to see what products are red hot.
ClickBank is another marketplace to check out as they are arguably one of the largest affiliate marketplaces on the planet, and they have products spanning from just about every niche market I can think of.
Email Monetization Strategy # 7 – Promote An Online Course As An Affiliate
I could really rant and rave for hours on end about why online learning and e-learning are some of the best industries right now.
Because, in my humble opinion, our global economy is changing in ways that we’ve quite frankly never thought of.
Automation, artificial intelligence, advanced software systems and robotics are going to change the way that humans live, and work.
That’s why I think that online learning, and e-learning are both tremendously hot markets. Because, these days, more and more humans are probably going to want to learn more skills so that they can compete in our ever-evolving global marketplace.
And, as you probably know, online learning can be significantly cheaper than attending a traditional University. Online therefore has many benefits, such as ease of access, and low cost.
The cool thing is that you can promote tons of course as an affiliate just by registering to the Udemy affiliate program.
It doesn’t really matter what niche market your email newsletter is in; I can promise that there are courses of all different shapes sizes and markets available on Udemy.
Whether you write about marketing, mathematics, physics, baking, health, weight loss, or even self-defense, there’s an abundant wealth of online courses that you can promote as an affiliate, and in my opinion the world of e-learning and distance education is just going to get bigger and better as time goes on.
Email Monetization Strategy # 8 – Consider Creating Your Own Course To Promote
Have you ever thought about teaching your own online course?
The idea might seem farfetched, but these days there are awesome marketplaces where you can launch your course without being a tech geek, or worrying about payment processors, payment gateways, add to cart buttons, or any of the confusing stuff.
I’ve personally launched many dozens of online courses on marketplaces such as Udemy, SkillShare, and SkillSuccess and I promise you that it’s relatively easy to upload and sell a course.
The main thing you need in order to teach an online course, is a desire to help people. And, since you are reading this blog post and are looking for a way to monetize your email newsletter, it’s safe to assume that you’re already creating awesome content.
Another very important thing to remember, is that as an online teacher, you probably already have a ton of course content already finished.
You probably have e-books, blog posts, email newsletter publishing, and other written content that you could begin repurposing into awesome course content.
It’s true. This could take a while, and it requires effort to teach!
However, if you love to help your audience, and if you have expertise that you want to share with the world, then I honestly believe that there’s never been a better time to be an online teacher.

Email Monetization Strategy # 9 – Promote A Blog Post That You’ve Already Written!
I’m of the personal philosophy that we as small business owners should repurpose and reuse our content as much as possible!
We don’t have massive writing staffs, or any staff at all, so we should use as much leverage as we can get.
That’s why I’m a huge fan of this method; to simply share content that we’ve already written.
Because, what happens if you have an awesome email newsletter with subscribers who are eagerly chomping at the bit in anticipation for your next issue, but you’re feeling epically lazy?
This is an idea to use if you’re suffering dismally from writer’s block (lol) and if you’re officially out of ideas.
The idea is to find some of the best content that you’ve ever written, and then simply write an email to let your end users how that content can benefit them.
The cool thing is that you can easily insert a clever call to action at the end of your blog content that promotes a related affiliate offer, an affiliate webinar, a book, a course, or anything that could be of use to your subscribers.
Email Monetization Strategy # 10 – Add A Tiny “PS” To The End Of Your Existing Newsletter Content
This is one of the laziest ways to promote an affiliate offer, your own offer, or absolutely anything without changing the style of your email marketing newsletter content in the slightest.
The idea is to simply add a tiny “PS” at the end of your emails, and in that PS you promote a related offer.
So, let’s pretend that you’re an expert blogger who makes the world’s best blogging newsletter content (you rock).
Let’s say that your latest email newsletter talks all about how bloggers can build their email list.
Well, one thing you could do, is find an awesome affiliate offer that you could promote as an affiliate.
Maybe you could promote your favorite email marketing software, or some type of marketing training as an affiliate.
So, maybe at the end of your regular email newsletter could simply add the following promotion:

The main benefit of using the “PS” method to promote an offer, is that it’s very simple to do and won’t really interfere with your current writing process.
